Pro-Am Competitions

Pro-Am Competitions are an exciting new concept very popular in America with a growing interest in the UK and rest of the world.  It is the ultimate dance competition experience for those who don't have the luxury of having a regular partner to compete with or have arrived to dance later in life.

Like in the Medallist Competitions, the Amateur dancer is partnered with a Professional who will concentrate on making you look the best on the floor.  The events generally take place in a very glamorous ballroom, and you will be judged by world-class adjudicators!

You will be entered according to your age division and level of abilities ensuring the teacher can compete will all their students. You can choose to compete in any or all dance styles you want in comparison with the Medal Competitions where the dances in each category are pre-chosen. You don't need to have passed a medal exam to compete in Pro-am competitions.

You can enter in single dance competitions but also in multi dance events (generally 3,4 or 5 dances per section) across several dance styles: Ballroom, Latin, American Smooth, American Rhythm, etc. Although more costly, these are also great fun, very glamorous, and very competitive.

Ask your teacher about opportunities for the next Pro-Am opportunities!
